The Champion instructional model of provides students with daily opportunities for reading, writing, listening, and speaking. The lessons embrace the consistent framework of the Gradual Release of Responsibility (I do it; We do it; and You do it).

Teacher models behaviors, language, and skills. Teacher taps into prior knowledge and builds background.

WE DO IT

Practice
Teacher and students practice new language and skills together. Instruction is explicit.

YOU DO IT

Apply & Extend
Students practice new language and skills in pairs and small groups. Additional practice to build on new skills.
