All of Ballard & Tighe’s materials and products are copyrighted to protect the original works of authorship. None of the Ballard & Tighe materials may be copied unless permission to reproduce is expressly granted directly on the material. For example, Ballard & Tighe blackline masters are sold with the right to reproduce the materials for one teacher’s classroom or for one test examiner only. They are not to be copied for or given to other teachers or examiners for their use. In all other cases, however, no part of the publications may be reproduced in any form or by any means, electronic or mechanical, including photocopying, recording, or any information storage and retrieval system, without permission in writing from the publisher. Copyright laws absolutely prohibit the copying of standardized tests such as the IPT and consumable works such as the IPT Test Booklets, IPT Answer Sheets, Creative IDEAS Activity Books, the Champion Writers and Testers, and the Carousel Testers. The Hands-On Grammar electronic files are for one teacher's use in one classroom only. In addition, no derivative work (such as a district-made answer sheet) based on a copyrighted work may be created without the publisher’s written permission.

Ballard & Tighe takes very seriously infringement of its copyrights and will follow through with legal action, if necessary. Licensing: use of Ballard & Tighe normative data

Ballard & Tighe’s normative data are proprietary and cannot be published, reproduced, disseminated, or used, in whole or in part, in any manner or format without permission in writing from the publisher. Anyone wishing to utilize Ballard & Tighe proprietary normative data must obtain a license agreement from Ballard & Tighe and pay a license fee for use of the data. Normative data includes, but is not limited to, all the information contained in the IPT technical manuals. Use of normative data includes entering information into a computer mechanically or by hand.
