Beginning on July 1, 2009, all school districts with students ages 3 and 4 entering Pre-K in Illinois will be screened using the Pre-IPT–Oral English Language Proficiency Test.

Please note that the Pre-IPT Oral can be administered only by certificated instructional personnel/teachers (including bilingual and ESL teachers) and certificated non-instructional personnel (coordinators, program directors, school psychologists, speech and language therapists, assistant principals, principals, assistant superintendents, and superintendents) who have completed the training module.
