Delivering the Lesson
Now let’s look at Lesson 1 of the sample chapter we are studying. As we review this lesson, you may click on the links to view the components being referenced.
1. First, look at the green You Will Need box on the left side of the page. This box provides a list of the Carousel components you will want to have on hand while you are teaching the lesson. This feature makes it easy for you to organize your materials before you start teaching the lesson so that when a component is introduced in the body of the lesson, it is already at your fingertips.
2. Now look at the first section in the Lesson, the Presentation section. Presentation activities introduce students to the words and concepts that will be presented in the lesson. In our sample lesson, the chapter target vocabulary is introduced using Theme Picture #19. Students also create a portfolio cover for their work using Template A. Portfolio containers are used throughout the chapter and during student evaluations.
