IPT 3-Writing Test: Components and Areas Assessed

Areas Assessed

The IPT 3-Writing Test assesses the following areas of writing proficiency:

Part 1: Conventions – This multiple-choice section assesses the mechanics of writing such as capitalization, punctuation, and abbreviations.

Part 2: Write a Story – Students are shown two series of pictures and are asked to write short, descriptive statements about the two situations depicted.

Part 3: Write Your Own Story – Students choose one of two situations and write a response to it.

Now that you are more familiar with the components and areas assessed by the test, you have the option of taking a Quick Quiz or moving on to the next section – Administration and Scoring.
