IPT I-Oral Test: Components and Areas Assessed

The IPT I-Oral English Test, Forms E & F, was renormed and published in 2001 to reflect current student populations. This test was developed expressly to assess the oral language skills of students in grades K-6. It provides diagnostic information for placing students in appropriate instructional programs.

Components

All the components of the IPT I-Oral English Test are fully copyrighted. NO PART OF THIS TEST MAY BE REPRODUCED. The IPT I-Oral English Test consists of the following components:

Test Booklet (Form E or Form F).
Please note that we offer two different test forms so that you can monitor students' progress and ensure reliability of scores between testing. Form E can be used as the pre-test and Form F can be used as the post-test. The administration and scoring of the two test forms is exactly the same.

Test Pictures (Form E or Form F).
The Test Pictures include a stand-up easel with the stimulus visuals needed to administer some of the test questions.

Examiner’s Manual (Forms E & F).
Contains directions on how to administer the test and interpret the results.

Technical Manual (Forms E & F).
Includes validity and reliability data.

IDEA Proficiency Level Summary, English and Spanish (Forms E & F).
Includes an overview of the test results for parent-teacher conferences and lesson planning.

IPT I Group List.
Contains student test level scores, designations, and other data.

Diagnostic Answer Sheet or Scannable Answer Sheet (Forms E & F, as applicable).
These are optional scoring components. They will be discussed later in the training.

NOTE: You will consume one test booklet for each student tested. If you are using the Diagnostic Answer Sheet or the Scannable Answer Sheet, you will consume one answer sheet for each student tested.
